In the video Whatever Happened to Rick Moranis? #shorts #celebrity, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as a joke to both fulfill and mock annoying Canadian content guidelines, the two transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
For this series, we’ll be looking at stars known for appearing in children’s films before they eventually disappeared from the limelight.
