Bob and Doug McKenzie in Wheaties Box

In the video Wheaties Box, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by Dave Thomas. Although brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh about dumb Canadian content laws, the characters morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The two soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
