In the video White McKenzie – 4 AM, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob is created by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by comic Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and mock annoying Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
