In the video You Didn’t Know This About Spaceballs…, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although made originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content policies, the two transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
