In the video YouTube Take Off Bob Doug Geddy, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as filler to both please and laugh at legal Canadian content guidelines, the two became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
